Carolyn Carter Davis

Mrs. Carolyn Carter Davis, 60, of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest Saturday, October 2, 2010 at Community Memorial Healthcenter, South Hill, VA.     Mrs. Davis was born in Mecklenburg County, VA  March 15, 1950 to the late Willie and Carrie Harper Carter.  She received her education in the Mecklenburg County Schools, and  was a member of Rocky Mount Baptist Church, Skipwith, VA. She was a former employee of Burlington Industries.    In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by one son; James Franklin Davis (Nook); one sister; Patsy Lyons; two brothers, Dennis Ray Carter and Edmond Lee Carter.   Cherishing her memories are her husband, James F. Davis of Chase City, VA; one daughter, Sharon D. Searles (Mitchell) of Richmond, VA; four grandchildren, six great grandchildren; her mother, Mrs. Carrie Carter; one sister, Linda C. Tucker (Donnie) all of Chase City, VA; two brothers, Rev. Willie J. Carter (Doris) of Waldorf, MD, and Calvin Carter of Chase City, VA and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.      Funeral services for Mrs. Carolyn Carter Davis will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Thursday, October 7, 2010 at Rocky Mount Baptist Church, Skipwith, VA with Rev. Willie L. Carter, officiating and Rev. Rodney Bracey, delivering the eulogy.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends  Wednesday evening  from 6:00 until 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
