Clarence Edward Marrow, Sr.

Mr. Clarence Edward Marrow, Sr., 54, of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at his residence. Mr. Marrow was born in Mecklenburg County, VA May 15, 1962 to the late Colonel and Frances Inez Chandler Marrow. He was a 1982 graduate of Central of Lunenburg High School and a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Victoria, VA. Mr. Marrow was a 2012 retiree of Nottoway Correctional Center. In addition to his parents, Mr. Marrow was preceded in death by a sister, Alice Hendricks; a brother, Arthur Chandler and two uncles, James and Edward Chandler. He leaves to cherish his memory two children, Ja Quan Wilson of Richmond, VA and Clarence Marrow, Jr. of South Hill, VA; one granddaughter, eight siblings, Anna Crawley, Evelyn Hamlett (Eugene), Bessie Tisdale, Colonel J. Marrow (Teresa), Charlie Marrow and Ray Marrow all of Victoria, VA, Spencer Marrow of Richmond, VA and William Marrow (Della) of Keysville, VA; seven aunts, Helen Kirby and Christine Stovall (Leroy) all of South Boston, VA, Charlotte Waller (Aaron) and Eva Pearson all of Baltimore, MD, Magdeline Smith (Dewey) of Texas, Ruth Marrow of Clarksville, VA and Martha Smith of Newark, NJ; former spouse, Christine H. Marrow of South Hill, VA; five sisters-in-law, six brothers-in-law; four devoted friends, Corwin Burton, Weldon Goode, Melvin and Leon Johnson and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mr. Clarence Edward Marrow, Sr. will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Saturday, May 13, 2017 at Calvary Baptist Church, Victoria, VA with Rev. William Moore, III officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Public viewing for family and friends will be held on Friday, 10:00 A.M. until 7:00 P.M. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
