Mr. Ernest Cartrelle Farrar, 80, of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest on Thursday, September 10, 2020 at his residence. Mr. Farrar was born in East Orange, NJ on September 29, 1939 to the late Ernest Lee and Lucinda Farrar. He was a 1956 graduate of West End High School in Skipwith, VA, and furthered his education at St. Paul’s College in Lawrenceville, VA. Mr. Farrar was a retiree of General Motors, and a veteran of the U.S. Army. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing. In addition to his parents, Mr. Farrar was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Marlene Gary and a nephew, Bertram Giles Gary. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 54 years, Marie (Flossie) Myers Farrar; devoted cousins, Ronnie, Henry and Joyce, and a host of other loving relatives and caring friends. Graveside funeral services will be conducted 12:00 Noon, Thursday, September 17, 2020 at Thyne Memorial Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Chase City, VA with Rev. Carl Johnson, officiating. Public viewing will be held on Wednesday from 2:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
