Ernestine Burton

Ms. Ernestine Burton, 72, of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest Friday, February 2, 2018 at VCU Community Memorial Hospital, South Hill, VA. Ms. Burton was born in Chase City, VA April 2, 1945 to the late Willie Junious and Gilla Mae Oliver Burton. She attended West End High School, was a member of Concord Baptist Church and was a self-employed seamstress. In her spare time, Ms. Burton enjoyed photography, reading and crafts. In addition to her parents, Ms. Burton was preceded in death by a brother, Leroy Burton. She leave to cherish her memories a son, Wayne Burton of Chase City, VA; a brother, Charles E. Burton of Tacoma, WA; three sisters, Rosa Johnson of Port Richie, FL, Lenora Wormack of Fresh Meadows, NY and Kathy Jones of Chase City, VA; two sisters-in-law, Shirley Burton and Patty Coleman and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Ms. Ernestine Burton will be conducted 11:00 AM Friday, February 9, 2018 at Concord Baptist Church, Chase City, VA with Rev. Linda Goode officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Public viewing for family and friends will be held on Thursday from 10:00 A.M. until 7:00 P.M. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
