Garfield R. Stovall

Mr. Garfield R. Stovall, 95, of Clarksville, VA entered eternal rest Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at Halifax Regional Hospital, South Boston, VA. Mr. Stovall was born in Halifax County, VA June 23, 1915 to the late Minnie Stovall. He attended school in Halifax County, VA and was a member of Bibleway Holiness Church, Boydton, VA. Mr. Stovall was a retiree of United Airlines. Mr. Stovall was preceded in death by his first wife, Mrs. Ruth Newton Stovall,  his second wife, Mrs. Mae Overby Short Stovall; two brothers, James Waller Stovall and Elder Earnest Emis Stovall, Sr.; two sisters, Clenice Scott and Alice Mae Frazier.   Cherishing his memories are his wife, Mrs. Rosebud Pompey Stovall of Clarksville, VA; one son, Clinton Thomas Richmond of Maryland; three step-sons, James Alexander (Paula) of Syracuse, NY Calvin Alexander (Janet) and Charles Alexander (Joyce) all of Chase City, VA; two step-daughters Faye Coleman (Claude) and Josephine Alexander of Richmond, VA; five grandchildren, one brother, Joe R. Stovall of Norfolk, VA; one brother-in-law, Vernon Pompey, one sister-in-law, Iva J. Modisette and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.   Funeral services for Mr. Garfield R. Stovall will be conducted 3:00 P.M. Sunday, September 19, 2010 at the chapel of C.H. Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Clarksville, VA with Rev. Calvin Richardson, officiating. Interment will be private. Arrangements are by C.H. Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Clarksville, VA.
