Georgette Hatcher Jackson

Mrs. Georgette Hatcher Jackson, 97, of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest on Sunday, April 19, 2020 at Sentara Meadowview Terrace, Clarksville, VA. Mrs. Jackson was the second of six children born October 27, 1922 to the late Walter and Anna Bell Wood Hatcher. At an early age, Mrs. Jackson joined Concord Baptist Church in Chase City where she served as a faithful member. She was a retired seamstress for Jonbil, Inc. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Jackson was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Asil Jackson, two sons, one sister, and two brothers. She leaves to cherish her memories two daughters, Elzina Smith and Willie Mae Morton (Thomas); one son, Walter A. Mack (KC); two step-sons, Douglas Jackson (Edna) and Henry Jackson (Millie), six grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, two sisters, and a host of other loving family members and friends. Due to the mandates from Governor Ralph Northam, private graveside service was conducted 1:00 PM Thursday, April 23, 2020 at Concord Baptist Church Cemetery, Chase City, VA with Rev. Loretta Bailey delivering the eulogy. Public viewing was held from 2:00 - 6:00 PM Wednesday. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
