Green Alex Clayton, Jr.

Mr. Green Alex Clayton, Jr. , 79, of North Chesterfield, VA entered eternal rest on Tuesday, November 28, 2017, at Chippenham Hospital, Richmond, VA. Mr. Clayton was born in Mecklenburg County, VA March 10, 1938, to the late Green and Elizabeth Allen Clayton. He received his education in the Mecklenburg County Public Schools and Southside Virginia Community College. At an early age, he joined Rocky Mount Baptist Church, Skipwith, VA. He later joined and served in the United States Army as a paratrooper. Mr. Clayton retired from Nottoway Correctional Center after twenty plus years of service. In addition to his parents, Mr. Clayton was preceded in death by one son, Irvin Clayton, and one brother, Willis Clayton. He leaves to cherish his memories a loving and devoted partner, Virginia Bullock of North Chesterfield, VA; five daughters, Jean Hines (Alex) of Chesterfield, VA, Octavia Clayton (Chris Webley) of High Point, NC, Debra Clayton (Steve Pruitt) of Anderson, SC, Verrhonda Bullock of Chesterfield, VA and Verlicia Bullock (Jevonne) of Brooklyn, NY; three sons, Anthony Clayton of Nashville, TN, Green Clayton, III (Antonia) of Winston-Salem, NC and Marcus Clayton of North Chesterfield, VA; fifteen grand-children; one brother, Robert Clayton of Clarksville, VA; two sisters, Doris Townes (Charles) of Clarksville, VA and Annette Clayton of Boydton, VA; five sisters-in-law; five brothers-in-law, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mr. Green Alex Clayton, Jr. will be conducted 11:00 A.M., December 2, 2017 at Rocky Mount Baptist Church, Skipwith, VA with Elder Charles D. Allen officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Public viewing for family and friends will be held on Friday from 10:00 A.M. until 7:00 P.M. Arrangements are by C. H.
