Deacon Lula Alberta Revis Smith, 83, of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest Wednesday, January 11 2017, at Sentara MeadowView Terrace, Clarksville, VA. Deacon Smith was born in Boydton, VA November 8, 1933. The third child of six born to Theodore Clarence and Georgia Stroble Revis. She attended the schools of Mecklenburg County, VA and was a member of Saint Luke Baptist Church. There she served as a Deacon, Missionary, Usher and Sunday School Teacher. She was employed by Jonbil Inc. for 27 years. In addition to her parents, Deacon Smith was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Louie Smith; a son, Ernest Lewis; grandson, Erik Smith; a brother, Clarence Revis, and three sisters, Mary Lee Harris, Georgia Anna Reed, and Estelle Latiker. She leaves to cherish her memories, four children, Brenda Hatcher of Chase City, VA, Edward M. Smith (Demetrius) of Fayetteville, NC, Eric Smith (Wilma) of Durham, NC and Leon Craddock of Skipwith, VA; 16 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great grandchildren and 1 great-great-great grandchild; one sister, Gladys Craddock (Alfred) of Bridgeport, CT; devoted caregivers, Angela, Vanessa, Christie and Katie and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. As per Deacon Smiths’ request there will be no services. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Mecklenburg County Cancer Association, P.O. Box 311, Chase City, VA 23924.
