Mary Ann Davis

Mrs. Mary Ann Davis, 81, of Stovall, NC entered eternal rest on Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at her residence. Mrs. Davis was born in Mecklenburg County, VA on January 18, 1935 to the late Annie Mae Strong and Paul Downey, Sr. She attended the schools of Mecklenburg County, VA and was a member of St. John Baptist Church, Buffalo Junction, VA. Mrs. Davis was a Licensed Volunteer Nurse (LVN) and a homemaker. Cherishing her memories are her husband, Daniel W. Davis of Stovall, NC; six daughters, Rosa Cooke of Spring Valley, NY, Joanne Coachman of Wake Forest, NC, Annie Fuller of Carrollton, TX, Ruby Hurd of Jacksonville, NC, Rachel Fuller of Stovall, NC, and Rhoda Sinclair of Jacksonville, NC; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three brothers, Louis Downey (Mary Lee) of Stovall, NC, James Downey (Bettie Sue) of Henderson, NC, and Paul Downey, Jr. of Stovall, NC; two sisters, Bessie Jones of Oxford, NC, and Sarah Davis of Stovall, NC and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Ann Davis will be conducted 12:00 Noon, Saturday, August 13, 2016 at St. John Baptist Church, Buffalo Junction, VA with Rev. Dr. Weldon McWilliams, delivering the eulogy. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday morning from 10:00 A.M. until service time at the church.
