Mildred Ella Johnston

Mrs. Mildred E. Johnston, 85, of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at Chase City Health and Rehab Center. Mrs. Johnston was born in Charlotte County, VA on March 30, 1936 to the late Nelson and Annie Wilson Jefferson. She attended the schools of Charlotte County, VA, and was a member of First Baptist Church in Wylliesburg, VA. She was part owner, along with her husband, of the Green Door in Chase City, VA, and loved cooking in her spare time. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Johnston was preceded in death by her husband, Harold C. Johnston and three sisters, Lou Alice Harris, Arlene Jefferson and Pearle Vanderbilt. She leaves to cherish her memories a son, Connell D. Jefferson (Trennis) of Oxford, NC; three grandchildren, Angela Pulliam, Sharnae Jefferson and Miya Jefferson; three great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Lorenza Harris, Sr. of Saxe, VA; devoted nephew, Donnell Jefferson of Richmond, VA, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. A memorial service for Mrs. Mildred E. Johnston will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Saturday, July 10, 2021 at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City, VA with Minister Bernard Royster officiating. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
