Rozelle Simmons Watkins

Mrs. Rozelle Simmons Watkins, 73, of Boydton, VA entered eternal rest Sunday, February 24, 2019 at the Hundley Center, South Hill, VA. Mrs. Watkins was born in Mecklenburg County, VA June 8, 1945 to the late James Robert and Beatrice Jones Simmons. She was a graduate of West End High School, Skipwith, VA and a member of Lands Chapel RZUA Church, Boydton, VA, there she sang in the Senior Choir. Mrs. Watkins was a 35 year employee of Russell Stover Candies. Mrs. Watkins was first married to Mr. George Martin, Jr.; this union was blessed with three children. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Watkins was preceded in death by her second husband, Mr. Eugene Watkins, five sisters and four brothers. Cherishing her memories are two sons, James Martin (Karen) and Gary Martin (Martina) all of Richmond, VA; one daughter, Annie Bell Woodson (Irvin) of Boydton, VA; step-daughter, Diane Hargrove of Clarksville, VA; four grandchildren; one sister, Delores (Dee) Fuller of Waldorf, MD, three sisters-in-law, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Rozelle Simmons Watkins will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Saturday, March 2, 2019 at the chapel of C.H. Harris Funeral Home, Buffalo Junction, VA with Minster Sharon Baskerville officiating. Burial will follow in Lands Chapel RZUA Church Cemetery, Boydton, VA, with a repast to follow at Bloom Hill Baptist Church, 1786 Busy Bee Rd; South Hill, Virginia 23970. Public viewing will be held on Friday from 10:00 A.M. until 6:00 P.M. Arrangements are by C.H. Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
