Sylvia Boyd

Mrs. Sylvia Boyd, 66, of Washington, DC and formerly of Skipwith, VA entered eternal rest Friday, December 30, 2011 in Washington, D.C., surrounded by her loving family and friends.  Mrs. Boyd was born in Skipwith, VA January 2, 1945 to the late Carrie Bell Mayo and Matthew Feggins. She attended the schools of Mecklenburg County, VA and was a retired employee of the U.S. Supreme Court. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Otis, George and James Feggins and a sister, Rosa Lee Washington.  Cherishing her memories are a devoted husband of thirty four years, Jackie Boyd; her children, Jacqueline Boyd, Timothy Boyd, Brenda Lee, Troy and Otis Osborne; nine grand children and six great grand children and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. A funeral service will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Friday, January 6, 2012 at Rocky Mount Baptist Church, Skipwith, VA with Rev. Willie L. Carter, Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church Friday from 10:00 A.M. until service time. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
