Thomas Ellis Overby

Mr. Thomas Ellis Overby, 60, affectionately known as “Snook” of Clarksville, VA went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 20, 2017. Mr. Overby was born in Buffalo Junction, VA on January 28, 1957 to Joan Winfield Overby and the late James E. Overby, Sr. He relocated to Peekskill, NY and was a 1975 graduate of Peekskill High School. He held various jobs while in New York, and later relocated to Clarksville, VA in 2008. Mr. Overby was a U. S. Army Veteran. In addition to his father, Mr. Overby was preceded in death one sister, Charlye Overby. Cherishing his memories are his son, Corey Overby of Carmel, NY; daughter, Tiffany Overby of Greensboro, NC; grandson, Marquesa; his mother, Joan Overby of Warrenton, NC; seven sisters, Betty Overby of Oxford, NC, Barbara Winston of Franklinton, NC, Jerry Carter (James) of Clarksville, VA, Enolia Gibbs (Larry) of South Boston, VA, Doris Overby and Gail Wilson (Ronald) both of Chase City, VA and Audrey Overby of Peekskill, NY; three brothers, James Overby, Jr. (Carol) of Peekskill, NY, Edward Overby (Wendy) of Washington, DC and Darryl Overby of Yonkers, NY; one aunt, Doris Hester of Clarksville, VA and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. A memorial service for Mr. Thomas Ellis Overby will be conducted 11:00 A.M., Saturday, November 25, 2017 at the chapel of C. H. Harris Funeral Home, Buffalo Junction, VA with Rev. Michael Jackson officiating. Arrangements are by C. H. Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
