Vernell Marshall Ghee

Mr. Vernell Marshall Ghee, 64, of Boydton, VA entered eternal rest on Sunday, November 13, 2016 at his residence. Mr. Ghee was born in Mecklenburg County, VA on December 11, 1951 to the late George Earl and Bessie Finch Ghee. He attended the schools of Mecklenburg County, VA and at an early age joined Williams Grove RZUA Church, Boydton, VA; later attending Impact Church of Durham, NC. Mr. Ghee was a former employee of the Town of Boydton, retiring in 2011. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Linda Jestine James Ghee; one brother, William Earl Ghee, and two sisters, Ora Lee Ghee-Brooks and Fannie Bell Ghee-Lawson. Cherishing his memories are his wife, Alice McFail-Ghee of Boydton, VA; two children, Angela N. Ghee of Boydton, VA and SSG Kevin Ghee of Fort Bliss, El Paso, TX; two step-children, Shavonda Miller-Harrison (Dawniel) of Vancouver, WA and Stephanie Harrison-Lawrence (Paige) of Frankfort, KY; four grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; three sisters, Maylinda King (Joseph) of Tampa, FL, Pastor Shirley G. Williams (Floyd, Jr.) and Dorothy G. King (Rev. L. Daniel) both of Boydton, VA; one brother, James E. Ghee (Lisa) of Richmond, VA and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friend. Funeral services for Mr. Vernell M. Ghee will be conducted 2:00 P.M., Saturday, November 19, 2016 at the chapel of C. H. Harris Funeral Home, Buffalo Junction, VA with Pastor Derrick Horton, officiating. Burial will follow in the Ghee Family Cemetery, Boydton, VA. Public viewing will be held on Friday from 10:00 A.M. until 6:00 P.M. with the family receiving friends from 6:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Arrangements are by C. H. Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
