Vincent H. Townes

Mr. Vincent H. Townes, 88, of Clarksville, VA entered eternal rest on Monday, August 17, 2020 at his residence. Mr. Townes was born in Mecklenburg County, VA on March 24, 1932 to the late Dock and Milda Boyd Townes. He attended the schools of Mecklenburg County, VA, and was a member of New Liberty Baptist Church in Clarksville. Mr. Townes was a retired farmer, and a former employee of Butler Lumber Company and Russell Stover Candies. In addition to his parents, Mr. Townes was preceded in death by one son, one grandson three sisters and two brothers. Cherishing his memories are his wife, Bertha Robinson Townes of Clarksville, VA; five sons, Jeffrey Townes (Dorothy) and Larry Townes (Jannie) both of Buffalo Junction, VA, Alvin Townes (Gail) of Clarksville, VA, and Richard Townes (Jeanine) and Leon Townes (Yolanda) both of South Hill, VA; daughter, Trentace Hutcherson of Charlotte, NC; 13 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Sampson Townes (Mayble) of Clarksville, VA and Moses Townes (Willie Mae) of Philadelphia, PA; sister, Martha Martin of South Boston, VA, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. A Graveside service for Mr. Vincent H. Townes will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Saturday, August 22, 2020 at New Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery, Clarksville, VA with Pastor Carl Walker delivering the eulogy. Public viewing will be held on Friday from 2:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M.
