Allen Jerome Patterson

Mr. Allen Jerome Patterson, 60, of Chase City, VA departed this life on Saturday, August 29, 2026.

Mr. Patterson was born in Mecklenburg County on April 25, 1966 to Elsie Andrews Patterson and the late William Patterson. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior at an early age and joined Bethlehem Baptist Church. Mr. Patterson graduated from Bluestone Senior High School in Skipwith, VA in 1984. He was presently employed with Walmart Transportation in Sutherland, VA as a truck driver with 25 years of dedicated service. Allen was a United States Army veteran.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Richard and Irene Andrews; paternal grandparents, Henry and Angerona Patterson; and his brother, Anthony Andrew Patterson.

He leaves to cherish his memory, a loving and devoted wife of 31 years, Debra J. Patterson; two daughters, Alicia Skeen (Emily) of Texas and Morgen Simone Thompson (Dante) of California; grandchildren, Maliyah Taea Morgen Thompson, Melanie Nikole Simone Thompson and Maya Adrienne Rochelle Thompson; his parents, Elsie and Robert Hatcher of Chase City, VA; one sister, Vanessa Richardson (Melvyn) of Prince George, VA; sister-in-law, Pamela Patterson of Chase City, VA, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 A.M., Thursday, September 3, 2026 at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City, VA with Rev. Waverly Brown delivering the eulogy. Burial will follow in Thyne Memorial Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Chase City, VA.
