Barbara Jean White

Ms. Barbara Jean White, 63, of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest on Monday, August 8, 2016 at Sentara Meadowview Terrace, Clarksville, VA. Ms. White was born in Skipwith, VA on November 17, 1952 to the late Woodrow, Sr. and Mildred Gayles Hardy. She attended Bluestone Senior High School, Skipwith, VA and Southside VA Community College, Keysville. Mrs. White was a member of St Luke Baptist Church, Skipwith, VA and a worked as a private duty Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). In addition to her parents, Ms. White was preceded in death by one son, Russell Edward White, Jr. and one brother, Woodrow Hardy, Jr. Cherishing her memories are one son, Mark A. White (Latorya Barnette) of Henrico, VA; one granddaughter, Lauren White; three brothers, Warren and Melvin Hardy both of Skipwith, VA and Curtis Hardy of Chase City, VA; two sisters, Nancy Hayes of Chase City, VA and Joyce Hardy of Clarksville, VA; two aunts, Maurice Goode (Walter) and Lillian Keene both of Chase City, VA and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Ms. Barbara J. White will be conducted 3:00 P.M. Sunday, August 14, 2016 at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City, VA with Rev. Willie L. Carter, Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in the White Family Cemetery, Skipwith, VA. Public viewing will be held on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until 6:00 P.M. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
