Benjamin Lee White

Benjamin Lee White, 67, of Prospect, VA, fell asleep in death on Monday, August 31, 2026. He was born on March 7, 1959 in Danville VA as the oldest of 2 sons to the late James E. White Jr and the late Lena F. White.

Ben was a 1977 graduate of Bartlett Yancey High School. He studied computer programming at Danville Community College and received a Bachelor’s degree from Old Dominion University. He worked as a computer programmer at Dan River Mills for over 20 years. He also enjoyed professional driving—both trucks and buses.

But Ben found his greatest joy in worship of Jehovah God. He was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on July 18, 1975. For a time, he worked as a volunteer at the world headquarters of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Brooklyn, NY. He enjoyed many years as a full-time volunteer to help people learn about the Bible. He will be remembered for his gentle, kind, loving spirit and his warm generosity.

Ben is survived by his loving wife, Alma Watkins White, of the residence, and his brother James O. White (Hope) of Clarksville, VA. We share his strong faith in the time soon to come when the rule of God’s Kingdom in the hands of His Son Jesus Christ will end all mankind’s troubles and make the earth a paradise where no one will be sick. (Matthew 6:9,10; Revelation 21:1-4; Isaiah 33:24).

A memorial service will be conducted by Travis Rhodes on Saturday, September 26, 2026 at 3:00 P.M. at the Blackstone, VA Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Remote type-in via Zoom details:
