Beverly Aubrey Bowen (B.A.)

Mr. Beverly Aubrey (B.A.) Bowen, 74, of Buffalo Junction, VA entered eternal rest on Sunday, May 24, 2026.

B.A. was born in Virgilina, VA November 21, 1951, to the late James Aubrey Bowen and Mabel Stevens Bowen. He was a graduate of Halifax County High School, Class of 1970 and a member of Buffalo Baptist Church where he previously served as the Sunday School Director, and as chairman of the Deacon Board and Board of Directors. He was a retired Senior Special Agent and Southside Drug Task Force Coordinator with the Virginia State Police.

He was a Charter and Lifetime member of the Virginia State Police Association, member of the Virginia State Police Alumni and the American Association of State Troopers. B.A. was also a member of the Clarksville Lions Club and Aarons Creek Ruritan Club where he served as president for several years. He also served as Chairmen of the Mecklenburg County School Board, Founding member and served as Director at one time on the Mecklenburg County YMCA, past Jaycee. In his leisure time B.A. enjoyed camping, fishing, and spending time with family and friends. He was a fill in dad for so many, friend to anyone he met, loyal brother, loving grandfather, and Honorary Homeschool Grandpa. 

In addition to his parents, B.A. was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Edward Farmer ("Frog") and his grandson, Anthony Michael Jaloway (“Little Tony.”)

He leaves to cherish his precious memories his wife, Jan Carolyn Thompson Bowen of Buffalo Junction, VA; son, Nolan Avery Bowen of Buffalo Junction, VA; his daughters, Blair Bowen Jaloway (Anthony) of Virgilina, VA and Allie Bowen Yancey (Josh) of Nelson, VA; seven grandchildren, brothers, Claude “Henry” Farmer of Ringgold, VA, Wayne Bowen (Paulette) and Larry Bowen of Virgilina, VA.

A memorial service will be conducted 2:00 P.M., Saturday, May 30, 2026, at Buffalo Baptist Church, Buffalo Junction, VA. In lieu of flowers, please consider making donations to the Mecklenburg County Cancer Association, Buffalo Baptist Church, or your home church in his honor.
