Clarence Roosevelt Tucker

Mr. Clarence Roosevelt Tucker, 83, of Chase City entered into eternal rest Wednesday, May 28, 2025.

Mr. Tucker was born in Chase City, VA March 10, 1942 to the late Samuel Norris and Susie Jones Tucker. He attended West End High School and was a member of Berean Baptist Church, Chase City, VA where he served as treasurer. He was also active with the Choir, Sunday school, and a member of the trustee board. He was an AAPR member, Chapter 741. Mr. Tucker was a machinist; he ran his own business, Tucker’s Small Engine Repair, and was also a lift truck operator.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Alice Tuttle and two brothers-in-law, Joseph Tuttle, Jr. and Pedro Barbosa.

Left to cherish is memories are his wife of 35 years, Carolyn Hayes Tucker; son, Keith C. Hayes; godson, Derrick Staten and adoptive godson, Leon Marable; granddaughter, Kamryn Hayes; two sisters, Bernice Hughes (Jasper) and Betty Tucker; many nieces and nephews; mother–in-law, Tealia Hayes; three sisters-in-law, Annie Kersey, Martha Barbosa and Sandra T. Hayes; brothers-in-law, Deacon Lawrence Kersey and Samuel Hayes, Jr., and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Saturday, June 7, 2025 at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA with Rev. Loretta Bailey delivering the eulogy. Burial will follow in Berean Baptist Church Cemetery, Chase City. Public viewing for family and friends will be held on Friday from 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM.
