David Michael Velez

Mr. David Michael Velez of Drakes Branch, VA died Sunday, November 6, 2016 at his residence. . Mr. Velez was born in Lorain, Ohio, October 18, 1959 to the late Sergio Ramos and Ruth Shreeves Velez. He was a graduate of Lorain High School and a veteran of the United States Navy. He loved collecting model cars and music. Mr. Velez is survived his wife of 33 years, Rebecca Ann Spelmen Velez of Drakes Branch, VA; three children, Christopher and wife Christina of Rice, VA, Brandi of Drakes Branch, VA and Romulus and wife Summer of Farmville, VA; one grandson, William Velez; two sisters, Teresa and Marie of Ohio; two brothers, Pete of Texas and John of Rhode Island; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Bernice and Leroy Swartzel of Drakes Branch, VA; two sisters-in-law, Renee Waters and Roberta Thomas; one brother-in-law, Ronald Spelman and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
