Elanita Brounson Hilliard Skipwith

Mrs. Elanita Brounson Hilliard Skipwith, 83, of Clarksville, VA entered eternal rest on Sunday, January 21, 2018 at Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital, South Boston, VA. Mrs. Skipwith was born in Granville County, NC on October 21, 1934 to the late Bay Boston Brounson and Letha Alston Brounson. She attended the schools of Granville County, NC and was a member of Amazing Bibleway Church, Buffalo Junction, VA. Mrs. Skipwith was a homemaker who enjoyed fishing in her spare time. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Skipwith was preceded in death by one grandson, Clyde A. Hilliard and one sister, Mable Brown. Cherishing her memories are her husband, James Skipwith of Clarksville, VA; four daughters, Patricia A. Harris of Chase City, VA, Odene H. Smith and Darlene Hilliard both of Clarksville, VA and Madeline Spencer (Jason) of Henderson, NC; 12 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren; two sisters, Blanche Clay of South Boston, VA and Ruby Smith of Baltimore, MD; two sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Saturday, January 27, 2018 at the chapel of C. H. Harris Funeral Home, Buffalo Junction, VA with Rev. Tywanda M. Jefferson, officiating. Burial will follow in the Williamson Family Cemetery, Buffalo Junction, VA. Public viewing will be held on Friday from 10:00 A.M. until 7:00 P.M. Arrangements are by C. H. Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
