Mrs. Elven Smith Jackson, 85, of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest on Sunday, September 6, 2026 at her residence.

Mrs. Jackson, affectionately called “G-Ma”, was born in Mecklenburg County, VA on February 21, 1941 to the late Vernon Wood, Sr. and Queenie Mae Smith. She attended the public schools of Mecklenburg County and joined Rocky Branch Baptist Church at an early age. In later years, she would join Silone Baptist Church where she remained a faithful member. She served as Sunday school superintendent, on the Deaconess board, as church clerk, Church Mother, and was an active member of the senior choir and missionary.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her second husband, Lee Roosevelt Jackson; and her daughter, Kimberly Tucker.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory her children, Robert Tyrone (Carmen), Ervin (Shanlee), Ralph, Christina (Clarence), Mary Ann, Sharon (Eric) and Milton all of Chase City, VA; 27 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren; brother, Herbert Gardner of Chase City, VA; sister, Faye Wiley of Chase City, VA and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Elven Smith Jackson will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Sunday, September 13, 2026 at Silone Baptist Church, Chase City, VA with Rev. Melvin J. Palmer officiating. Burial will follow in Silone Memorial Garden, Chase City, VA. Public viewing for family and friends will be held on Saturday from 2:00 to 6:00 P.M.

Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
