Eveline Barnes Walker

Ms. Eveline Barnes Walker, 66, of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at her residence. Ms. Walker was born in South Hill, VA February 19, 1952 to the late William Edward and Luegene Osborne Barnes. She attended the schools of Mecklenburg County, VA and was a member of Rocky Mount Baptist Church, Skipwith. Ms. Walker was a former employee of Uppy’s Convenience Stores. In addition to her parents, Ms. Walker was preceded in death by a daughter, Dorothy D. Barnes; sisters, Barbara Barnes, Lucille Puryear and Julie Barnes, and brothers, Joe B. Barnes and Theodore S. Barnes. She leave to cherish her memories her husband, Russell Walker, Jr. of Chase City, VA; three sons, Raymond G. Barnes, Russell Harvey Walker III and Alexander Walker all of Chase City, VA; two daughters, Carsandra Barnes and Kimly Walker both of Richmond, VA; 17 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Helen Funnye of East Orange, NJ and Shirley Barnes of Chase City, VA; a brother, William H. Barnes of Chase City, VA, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Monday, May 7, 2018 at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City, VA with Apostle Dr. Roxanne L. Barnes delivering the eulogy. Interment will be private. Public viewing for family and friends will begin Monday from 10:00 AM until service time. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
