Flora Smith Harris

Mrs. Flora Smith “Butch” Harris, 75, of Skipwith, VA entered eternal rest on Sunday, May 5, 2019 at Virginia Hospital Center in Arlington, VA. Mrs. Harris was born in Mecklenburg County, VA on June 29, 1943 to the late Sydlo Gooch Smith and Andrew Smith. She was a graduate of West End High School, and a member of St. Luke Baptist Church in Skipwith, VA. Mrs. Harris was a retired paraprofessional for Mecklenburg County Public Schools. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, puzzle books, and gardening. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings. Cherishing her memories are her husband of 54 years, Willie Marshall Harris of Skipwith, VA; one son, Willie Marshall Harris, Jr. (Carrie) of Middleburg, VA; two daughters, Marsha Y. Harris and Demetria R. Harris both of Washington, DC, two grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, four sisters-in-law, one brother-in-law, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Flora Smith “Butch” Harris will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Saturday, May 11, 2019 at The House of Prayer, Buffalo Junction, VA with Rev. Marvin Harris delivering the eulogy. Burial will follow in St. Luke Baptist Church Cemetery, Skipwith, VA. Public viewing for family and friends will be held on Friday from 10:00 A.M. until 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Arrangements are by C. H. Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Clarksville, VA.
