Mr. Frank Archie Sr., 82, departed this life on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at Chippenham Hospital in Richmond, Virginia.

Mr. Archie was born on October 3, 1943, in Cameron, South Carolina, to the late Rembert Archie Jr. and Elizabeth Saxon Corley. He later attended and graduated from high school in Jersey City, New Jersey. Mr. Archie built a long and distinguished career as a fleet diesel mechanic, dedicating more than 40 years to his profession. He also worked as a charter bus driver. He became a faithful member of Messiah Baptist Church in East Orange, New Jersey. He loved caring for his lawn and looked forward each year to planting and tending his garden. Frank also loved fishing, "plinking” on his guitar, and had a special interest in collecting vintage guitar books.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved son, Frank Archie Jr.; his grandson, Devon Darnell Mason, and his sister, Willie Dean Tensley.

Left to cherish his memory and continue his legacy are his devoted wife of nearly 59 years, Nancy Roberta Hardy; daughter, Francelia Archie; son, Harry Archie; grandchildren, Dejae L. Draper, Jania A. Draper, and Frank Archie III; brother, James Corley; sister, Lillie Rivers; three sisters-in-law, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.

Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 P.M. Saturday, August 29, 2026 at Concord Baptist Church, Chase City, VA with Rev. Dr. Lamont D. Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Public viewing for family and friends will be held on Friday from 2:00 until 6:00 P.M. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
