Ms. Geneva Epps, 89, of Union, NJ and formerly of Boydton, VA entered eternal rest on Monday, July 6, 2026.
Ms. Epps was born in Boydton, VA on November 17, 1936 to the late Willie Epps and Julia B. Epps. She was educated in the Mecklenburg County school system. At the age of nineteen, she relocated to New Jersey, and throughout her lifetime was employed in factories, nursing homes, and as a domestic worker. She attended Lands Chapel RZUA Church and New Hope Baptist Church in Boydton, VA, before later worshiping at Deliverance Temple and Greater Bethlehem Healing Temple in Newark, NJ. For more than twenty-five years, she faithfully served as a devoted member of Love of Jesus Ministries in Orange, NJ. Geneva will be remembered for her enduring love of family, her quiet strength, and the countless memories she created with those she held dear.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Julia (Diane) Epps; her grandson, Travis Epps and her great-granddaughter, Nevaeh Epps; sisters, Lucinda Facey, Virginia Tucker, and Nancy Epps in infancy; and her brothers, Charlie, Thomas (Jake), James (Bubba), Richard, Erwin, Willie Lee Sr., and Emmitt.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories her devoted daughter, Audrey Epps of Union, NJ; granddaughters, Tamika Epps-Johnson (Tyshan) and Rashanda Epps (Harry Moore); great-grandsons, Stefan Epps, Sr., Sakir Epps, and Malik Triplett; great-granddaughters, Janiyah Hawkins and Ariel Johnson, four great-great-grandchildren, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.
Funeral services will be conducted 12:00 Noon, Saturday, July 18, 2026 at Lands Chapel RZUA Church, Boydton, VA with Rev. Dr. Leon Wall, Sr., officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Viewing will begin on Saturday from 11:00 A.M. until 11:45 A.M. at the church.
