Gwendolyn Claudette Hutcheson

Mrs. Gwendolyn Claudette Hutcheson, 85 of South Hill, VA entered eternal rest on Friday, May 8, 2026.

Mrs. Hutcheson was born in Chase City, VA September 15, 1940, to the late Casey and Theora Hardy. She was a graduate of West End High School and a member of Concord Baptist Church, Chase City, VA. She was previously employed as a Teacher Aide with Mecklenburg County Public Schools. In her leisure time she enjoyed Gospel music and entertaining family.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hutcheson was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories her husband, Nathaniel P. Hutcheson, Sr. of South Hill, VA; her son, Nathaniel Hutcheson (Nancy) of Richmond, VA; her daughter, Tracey Lassiter (Jarrious) of Raleigh, NC; two grandchildren; her brother, Alfred Hardy (Annie) of Chase City, VA; four sisters, Joan Gee, Hilda Terry (Marshall) and Wanda Royster (John) all of Chase City, VA and Alice Miller of Mechanicsville, VA and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.

A graveside memorial service will be conducted 12:00 Noon Friday, May 15, 2026, at Concord Baptist Church Cemetery, Chase City, VA with Rev. Raleigh M. Bagley, III delivering the eulogy.
