Hazel Lee Rawlings

Mrs. Hazel Lee Rawlings, 62, of Wylliesburg, VA entered eternal rest on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at VCU MCV Hospital, Richmond, VA. Mrs. Rawlings was born October 20, 1954 to the late Sally Pearl Roberts and Henry Lee Boyd. She received her education in the Charlotte County Public Schools and was a member of First Baptist Church, Wylliesburg, VA where she was a member of multiple choirs. Mrs. Rawlings was formerly employed by Billy Ferrell for many years. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Rawlings was preceded in death by her husband, William Thomas Rawlings and one brother, William Roberts. Cherishing her memories are seven children, Thomas Rawlings of Drakes Branch, VA, Peggie D. Alexander of Lawrenceville, VA, Ethel Dailey of Chase City, VA, Jessica Terry of Saxe, VA, Valerie A. Rawlings, Terri Rawlings and Sherri Rawlings all of Wylliesburg, VA; 17 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, one sister, Sallie Ann Mosley of Boydton, VA and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Hazel Lee Rawlings will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Thursday, June 8, 2017 at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City with Rev. Opie Terrell officiating. Burial will follow in the Rawlings Family Cemetery, Chase City, VA. Public viewing will be held on Wednesday from 10:00 A.M. until 7:00 P.M. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
