Irene Dodson Gordon

Mrs. Irene Dodson Gordon, 92, of Richmond, VA and formerly of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest Friday, February 16, 2018 at Parham Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center, Richmond, VA. Mrs. Gordon was born in Mecklenburg County, VA April 24, 1925 to the late George W. and Fannie Betty Dodson. She attended the schools of Mecklenburg County, VA and furthered her education at Virginia Union University. Mrs. Gordon was a member of Concord Baptist Church, Chase City, VA and was a former employee of Craddock-Terry Shoe Factory. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gordon was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Gordon; two children, Alice and Raymond, Jr.; two brothers, William and Charles Dodson, and one sister, Beulah Dodson Sallie. She leaves to cherish her memories two daughters, Vernell Gordon of Henrico, VA and Regina Gordon-Couch (Ray) of Sandston, VA; 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 11 great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Leola Wood and Henrietta Weddington both of Chase City, VA, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Irene Dodson Gordon will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at Concord Baptist Church, Chase City, VA with Elder Kenyatta Evans officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Public viewing for family and friends will be held on Monday from 10:00 AM until 7:00 PM. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
