James Edward Davis Jr.

Mr. James Edward Davis Jr., 75 of Westbury, NY and Clarksville, VA entered eternal rest Thursday, August 26, 2010 at Halifax Regional Hospital, South Boston, VA. Mr. Davis was born in Mecklenburg County, VA February 20, 1935 to the late James Edward Davis Sr. and Frances Venable Davis. He attended Mecklenburg County Schools and was a retired truck driver with DHL. Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his first wife, Gracie Somerville Davis and a brother, Frederick D. Davis Cherishing his memories are his wife, Patricia A. Davis of Westbury, NY; two children, Janet Davis- Lowe (Anselm) of Port Jefferson Station, NY and Virginia Stewart (Larry) of Jamaica, NY; two grandchildren, two sisters, Irene D. Carter (Larry) and Gracie D. Young (Marcus) all of Clarksville, VA one brother, Ulysses Davis (Karen) of San Antonio, TX and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. A memorial service will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at the chapel of C.H. Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Clarksville, VA with Rev. Calvin W. Johnson, officiating.
