Jerlene Robertson

Ms. Jerlene Robertson, 79, of South Boston, VA entered eternal rest Friday, July 11, 2025.

Born August 12, 1945, to the late Eula Louise and Frank Robertson. She was raised in Chase City, Va by her mom and stepfather the late Joseph Rogers. Jerlene was educated in the Mecklenburg County School System. She joined Rocky Mount Baptist Church at a young age. Jerlene left Virginia at the age of 22 to move to Bridgeport, Connecticut, and lived there until 2021 when she moved back to Virginia after retirement. While living in Bridgeport she worked multiple jobs retiring from KX Industries in December of 2010. She was an active member and deacon of Shiloh Baptist Church, of Bridgeport, CT for 25 years. Everyone who met her said that she had a beautiful spirit and her smile would light up the room.

In addition to her parents and step-father ,Jerlene was preceded in death by her long-time love Clarence Jeffreys; her daughter, Charlene Robertson; sister, Mabel Robertson; brothers, Thomas and Douglas Rogers, a grandson, Lawrence Robertson and nephew Terlenio Rogers.

She leaves to cherish her memories her daughters, Marcia Johnson, Shequilla, Jennifer and Cynthia Robertson; 10 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, seven siblings, Mabel Robertson, , Rebecca Rogers, Floyd Rogers, Shirley Rogers, Brenda Dabney (James), Jean Rogers and Clarence Rogers and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.

Funeral services will be conducted 12:00 Noon Friday, July 18, 2025 at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City, VA with Rev. Carl McCluster delivering the eulogy. Burial will follow in Rocky Mount Baptist Church Cemetery, Skipwith, VA. Public viewing will begin Friday from 11:00 AM – 11:45
