Juanita Ann Somerville

Ms. Juanita Ann Somerville, 81, of Winston-Salem, NC entered eternal rest on Thursday, May 14, 2026 at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center, Winston-Salem, NC.

Ms. Somerville was born in Richmond, VA September 6, 1944 and was a graduate of West End High School. She also attended Deshazor’s Beauty College and received a Vocational Diploma. She attended Saint Luke Baptist Church in her younger years. Ms. Somerville previously worked as a daycare teacher, in her leisure time she enjoyed sewing, arts and crafts and cooking.

Ms. Somerville was preceded in death by her mother, Ruth Lee Bowers, her brother, Lawrence Martin Bowers and her nephew, Rhajon Khary Croom.

She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Stacy Darin Somerville (Tiffany) of Raleigh, NC; daughter, Marcia Valerie Smith (Reshaun) of Winston-Salem, NC; four grandchildren, one great-grandchild; two sisters, Shirley Jean Lunsford of Clark, NJ and Diane Croom of Easton, PA and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.

Funeral service will be conducted 11:00 AM Saturday, May 30, 2026 at the chapel of C.H. Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Buffalo Junction, VA with Minister Karen Blue delivering the eulogy. Burial will follow in Saint Luke Baptist Church Cemetery, Skipwith, VA. Public viewing for family and friends will be Saturday from 10:00 AM until 10:45 AM.
