Mrs. Margaret Virginia Hurtt Daniel, 75, of Keysville, VA entered eternal rest on Saturday, August 22, 2026 at Centra Southside Community Hospital in Farmville, VA.

Mrs. Daniel, affectionately known as M.V., was born on February 17, 1951 to the late Nathaniel L. and Corrine Thompson Hurt. She attended Charlotte County Schools and received her General Education Diploma from Southside Community College in Keysville. She accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of Gill Hill Baptist Church where she served on numerous church committees and sang in the church choir. She enjoyed singing, and early on in life, she was the lead singer with the Spiritual Knights Gospel Group from Keysville; she continued to sing until her health declined.

Mrs. Daniel had over 40 years of work experience from Keysville Spinning Mill, West Point Stevens and Burlington Industries. She later drove school buses for Prince Edward County Schools until her health declined. Known for her motherly love, Margaret enjoyed playing cards, bowling, going on cruises, attending sporting events, and going out to eat with family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her six sisters: Dorothy, JoeAnn, Diana, Marion, Darolen and Angela.

She leaves to cherish her fondest memories: her devoted friend and husband of 55 years, George Daniel of the home; her sons, George Hurt (Monica) of Chase City, VA and Scottie Hurt (Sheila) of Fredericksburg, VA; her grandchildren, Tybrea, George Jr., Darius and Dameon; great-grandchildren, Teagan, Gavin, Alani and Bella; brothers, Larry Hurt (Lorinda) of Victoria, VA and Nathaniel Hurt of Richmond, VA; bonus children, William Daniel, Raymond Daniel, Georgette Daniel, Jacqueline Coleman and Lorraine Daniel and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August 29, 2026 at Lone Oak Baptist Church, Keysville, VA with Rev. Isaiah Hurt, officiating. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, Keysville, VA. Public viewing for family and friends will be held on Friday from 2:00 to 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
