Marion Virginia Evans

Mrs. Marion Virginia Evans, 85, of Boydton, VA entered eternal rest on Thursday, September 3, 2026 at Richmond Post-Acute Care, Richmond, VA.

Mrs. Evans was born in Boydton, VA on December 24, 1940 to the late Warry Wayne Mangum and Virginia King. She was a graduate of West End High School in Clarksville, VA and obtained her associate degree upon relocating to East Orange, NJ. She was a member of St. Paul AME Church in East Orange and was a former registered nurse at Greystone Park Psychiatric Hospital in Morris Plains, NJ. In her spare time, Marion enjoyed watching classic tv, word search puzzles and retail therapy.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Nathaniel Evans; and six brothers, Robert, Wilburt (Charles), Jerome (Warry), Clarence, Raymond and Claude.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her son, Nathaniel Evans, Jr. of Bloomfield, NJ; her granddaughters, Asia Evans-Suos (Kanel) of Glendale, CA, MariCarmen Serrano (Bryan) of Bloomfield, NJ, and adopted granddaughter, Marie Irving of Union, NJ; her brother-in-law, Albert Evans of Clarksville, VA, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Thursday, September 17, 2026 at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City, VA with Elder Kenyatta Evans, officiating. Burial will follow in Jerusalem Temple United Holy Church Cemetery, Boydton, VA. Public viewing for family and friends will be held on Wednesday from 2:00 to 6:00 P.M.
