Marion Hilliard, Jr.

Mr. Hilliard, affectionately known as “Piggy”, was born in Granville County, NC on March 8, 1955 to the late Marion Hilliard, Sr. and Classie Yancey Hilliard. He relocated to Arlington, VA in 1969, and was educated in the Arlington County Public School System. Mr. Hilliard retired from Virginia Paving as a Heavy Roller Operator with 20 years of dedicated service. He was a Prince Hall Mason for over 20 years and a member of Pride of Fairfax Lodge No. 298 F. & A.M. in Alexandria, VA. Marion was a lifelong Pittsburg Steelers Fan, and avid guitarist, and was passionate about drag racing. He was a skilled mechanic known throughout the racing community as “Country”.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Curtis Hilliard and his biological father, Jeffery Lewis.

He leaves to cherish his loving memory, his wife Deborah Smith-Dickerson; three children, Marion Hilliard, III of Woodbridge VA, Travis Hilliard of Dumfries, VA and Trish Hilliard of Woodbridge, VA; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Roy Hilliard (Dorothy) of Arlington, VA and Barry Lewis; two sisters, Joyce Hilliard of Arlington, VA and Estelle Hilliard of Woodbridge, VA, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Marion Hilliard, Jr. will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Saturday, May 10, 2025 at St. John Baptist Church, Buffalo Junction, VA with Rev. Demario Covington, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Public viewing will begin on Saturday from 1:00 to 1:45 P.M. at the church.
