Mary Alice White Jones

Mrs. Mary Alice White Jones, 77, of Skipwith, VA entered eternal rest Sunday, December 13, 2015 at her residence. Mrs. Jones was born in Mecklenburg County, VA May 29, 1938 to the late Sandy W., Sr. and Alease Jones White. She attended the schools of Mecklenburg County and at an early age joined St. Luke Baptist Church in Skipwith, VA. She was formerly employed by Lake Sleepwear and retired from Burlington Industries. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. William Edward Jones; one sister, Dorothy Ann White and one brother, Sandy W. White, Jr. Cherishing her memories are three sons, Carnell Jones (Adele) of Rochester, NY, Elton Jones (fiancé Hortence Reid) of Clarksville, VA and Douglas Jones (Yvonne) of Montgomery, AL; six grandchildren, Carlye, Shaina, Justin, Nathan, Kendell and Brandon; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Louise Ruffin (Kenneth) of Richmond, VA; two sisters-in-law, Irma Carter and Martha Jones; one great-aunt, Isabell Minor;  nephew, Curtis;  nieces, Edith, Doris and Tewanda; devoted caregiver and niece Sandra Carter and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Alice White Jones will be conducted 11:00 A.M., Friday, December 18, 2015 at the chapel of C. H. Harris Funeral Home, Buffalo Junction VA with Overseer Yvonne Jones, officiating.  Burial will follow in St. Luke Baptist Church Cemetery, Skipwith, VA. Public viewing will be held on Thursday from 10:00 A.M. until 7:00 P.M at the funeral home. Arrangements are by C. H. Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service.  Services 11:00 A.M.  Friday, Dec. 18, 2015  C. H.
