Mildred Harris South

Ms. Mildred Harris South, 75 , of Skipwith, VA entered eternal rest Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at Halifax Regional Hospital, South Boston, VA. Ms. South was born in Mecklenburg County, VA March 25, 1938 to the late William and Geneva Bowers Harris.  She attended the schools of Mecklenburg County, VA and was a member of New Light Baptist Church, Skipwith, VA.   She was formerly employed by Burlington Industries in Clarksville, VA. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Delores G. Harris-Luck. Cherishing her memories are two children, Francine Askew and Kelvin South, both of Skipwith, VA; one grandson, Michael D. South (Trakecha) of Nelson, VA ;one great-grandson, Jordan A. South ;one sister, Loretta H. Harris (Charles) of Clarksville, VA, two brothers, Percy Leon Harris (Janice) and Willie Marshall Harris (Flora) both of Skipwith, VA, two aunts, Ethel Harris of Skipwith, VA and Dorothy Fuller of Chase City, VA  and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Ms. Mildred Harris South will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Sunday, February 2, 2014 at the chapel of C. H. Harris Funeral Home, Buffalo Junction, VA with Rev. Willie L. Carter, Sr., officiating.  Burial will follow in the Harris Family Cemetery, Skipwith, VA.  Public viewing for family and friends will be held on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until 6:00 P.M. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. Arrangements are by C. H. Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service.   Service 2:00 P.M. Sunday, February 2, 2014 C. H.
