Minister Alice Mae Hilliard

Minister Alice Mae Hilliard, 80 of Oxford, NC entered eternal rest on Friday, March 20, 2026 at Granville Medical Center, Oxford, NC.

Minister Hilliard was born in Oxford, NC March 4, 1946 to the late Melissa Mae Yancey and attended G.C. Shaw School. She was formerly employed with Max Faxtor before retiring. She was a member of Davis Chapel Baptist Church, Oxford, NC. In her leisure time she enjoyed singing, ministering, cooking and family time.

In addition to her mother, Minister Hilliard was preceded in death by her father, Milton Burwell; her son, Leonard Hilliard III and her brothers, William and John Burwell.

Minister Burwell leaves to cherish her precious memories three sisters, Frances Pettaway (John) of Nelson, VA, Brenda Burwell of Buffalo Junction, VA and Mildred Gregory (Tony) of Clarksville, VA;  grandchildren, DaVonte Greene, Jamal Hilliard, Kavon Hilliard and Amiracle Hilliard; one great grandchild, Kahlani Hilliard; devoted nieces and a devoted newphew; and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Saturday, March 28, 2026 at Davis Chapel Baptist Church, Oxford, NC with Rev. Sandy Smith delivering the eulogy. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Public viewing for family and friends will be on Friday from 2:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
