Pamela Danette Nelson

Miss Pamela Danette Nelson, 61, of Wilson, NC and formerly of Hackensack, NJ passed away June 28, 2026 at her residence in Wilson, NC. Miss Nelson was born on November 9, 1964 in Hackensack to Mary Jane Nelson and the late Daniel Nelson. She attended Hackensack public schools and graduated from Hackensack High School in 1983. Pam worked at Fairleigh Dickinson University from 2001 through 2025. Pam loved to cook and teach her family her special recipes, she also owned her catering business called Pam's Heavenly Delight. Pam was also known for her dancing and as a DJ known to all as Che-Che La Rock with the Break Out Brothers.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her brother, Khalil Ali, and niece, Akilah Ali.

She is survived by her daughter, Nequia Nelson (Mike) of Englewood, NJ; two sons, Shahdee Nelson (Nikki) of Wallington, NJ and Tori DuPree of Raleigh, NC; two grandkids, Micah Devers and Angelo Nelson; her mother, Mary Jane Nelson of Raleigh, NC; sister, Veronica Nelson Baines (Greg); two brothers, Randy and Reggie Nelson of Raleigh, NC, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.

Funeral services for Miss Pamela Danette Nelson will be conducted 10:00 A.M. Saturday, July 4, 2026 at the chapel of C. H. Harris Funeral Home, Buffalo Junction, VA with Elder Kenyatta Evans, officiating. Burial will follow in the Nelson Family Cemetery, Clarksville, VA. Public viewing for family and friends will begin on Saturday from 9:00 to 9:45 A.M. at the funeral home.
