Rev. William Edward Jones, 86, of Clarksville, VA entered eternal rest Friday, August 22, 2014 at his residence. Rev. Jones was born in Skipwith, VA November 2, 1927 to the late Guy Sr. and Bannah Day Jones.  He attended the schools of Mecklenburg County and was a graduate of St. Paul’s College, Lawrenceville, VA.  He was a member of New Liberty Baptist Church and was the former pastor of Mossingford Baptist Church in Saxe, VA.   He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge #280, Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and previously served on the Mecklenburg County School Board.  Rev. Jones was a retired Brick Mason and a United States Army Veteran having served in World War II and the Korean War. Cherishing his memories are his wife of 59 years, Mary Alice White Jones of Clarksville, VA; three sons, Carnell Jones (Adele) of Rochester, NY, Elton Jones of Clarksville, VA and Doug Jones (Yvonne) of Montgomery, AL; six grandchildren, Carlye, Shaina, Justin, Nathan, Kendell and Brandon; one great-grandchild, Kendall Jones; one sister, Irma Carter; two sisters-in-law, Louise Ruffin and Martha Jones; one brother-in-law, Ken Ruffin; devoted nephew and caregiver, Alfred Carter and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Rev. William Edward Jones will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Friday, August 29, 2014 at New Liberty Baptist Church, Clarksville, VA with Overseer Yvonne Jones, officiating.  Burial will follow in the St. Luke Baptist Church Cemetery, Skipwith, VA.  Public viewing for family and friends will be held Thursday from 10:00 A.M. until 7:00 P.M. Arrangements are by C. H. Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Clarksville, VA. Service 11:00 A.M. Friday, August 29, 2014 New Liberty Baptist Church Clarksville, Virginia Interment St. Luke Baptist Church Cemetery Skipwith, Virginia Public Viewing Thursday 10:00 AM until 7:00 PM
