Ruth Hayes

Mrs. Ruth Smith Hayes, 60, of Richmond, VA entered eternal rest Monday, May 21, 2012 at VCU/MCV Hospital, Richmond, VA. Mrs. Smith was born in Mecklenburg County, VA March 7, 1952 to the late Vincent Smith and Anna Craddock Smith. She attended the schools of Mecklenburg County, VA and was formerly employed in childcare. In addition to her father, Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by one sister, Shirley Boyd. Cherishing her memories are her husband, David Hayes of Richmond, VA; two children, Holly Hayes of Richmond, VA and Warren Hill of Waverly, VA; two grandchildren, her mother, Anna Craddock Smith of Chase City, VA; four sisters, Linda Boswell of Chase City, VA, Peggy Moss (Hal), Audrey Fulmore (Kelton) all of Richmond, VA and Dianna Morton (Miles) of Dolphin, VA; two brothers, Billy Smith of Chase City, VA and Michael Smith (Wanda) of Buffalo Junction, VA and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Ruth Smith Hayes will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Friday at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA with Rev. Willie L. Carter, Sr., officiating. Burial will follow in Saint Luke Baptist Church Cemetery, Skipwith, VA. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA
