Shawn "Dutch" Harris

Mr. Shawn "Dutch" Harris, 39, of La Crosse, VA entered eternal rest Wednesday, April 15, 2020 at his residence. Mr. Harris was born October 15, 1980 in Newark, NJ to Lily Harris and the late William Harris. He attended Westside High School and later Jersey Prep. At an early age he joined Wharton Memorial Baptist Church. He was previously employed by Amazon. Mr. Harris was preceded in death by his father, William Harris; a daughter, Journee Davé, and his maternal grandparents, Cleo and Lillie Bell Wright. He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Lily Harris of Chase City, VA; Fiancé, Erica Minor Jones of South Hill, VA; two step-children, Hughie Chavis and Roderica Cook; godchild, Shateria Garnes; three brothers, Darren Harris of Newark, NJ, Kevin Wright of Baltimore, MD and Corey Graham of Richmond, VA, six aunts, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Due to the mandates from Governor Ralph Northam, a private graveside service was conducted Sunday, April 19, 2020 at Rocky Mount Baptist Church Cemetery, Skipwith, VA with Rev. Dennis King delivering the eulogy. Public viewing will be held on Saturday from 2:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
