Sherman Sewell Brooks, Jr.

Mr. Sherman Sewell Brooks, Jr., 66, of Clover, VA exchanged time for eternity on Sunday, June 7, 2026.

Mr. Brooks, Jr., affectionately known as Sewell, was born in South Boston, VA November 18, 1959, to Sherman, Sr. and the late Maria Robertson Brooks. He was a 1978 graduate of Halifax County Senior High School and a member of Bethel Grove Baptist Church, Clover, VA. In his leisure time he enjoyed watching sports playoffs and westerns along with playing softball.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Brooks and his brother-in-law, Damian Williams.

He leaves to cherish his memory his daughters, Katrena Brooks and Kristina Hugger (Isaiah) of Scottsburg, VA and Bettina Brooks (Lionel) of Los Angeles, CA; ten grandchildren; father, Sherman Brooks, Sr. of Clover, VA;  grandmother, Lucy Robertson of Clover, VA; brother, Larry Brooks of Clover, VA; two sisters, Sherrane Williams of Temple Hills, MD and Joyce Tyler of Cockeysville, MD and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.

A memorial service will be conducted 12:00 Noon Friday, June 26, 2026, at Bethel Grove Baptist Church, Clover, VA with Rev. Marvin Bowman officiating.
