Thelma Katrina Oliver-Hayes

Mrs. Thelma Katrina Oliver-Hayes,62, of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest on Friday, January 2, 2026 at VCU Health Community Memorial Hospital in South Hill, VA.

Mrs. Hayes, affectionately known as “Missy”, was born September 6, 1963, in Yonkers, NY to Mary Ann Oliver and the late Robert Oliver. She was a graduate of the New York Public School System and began her working life in New York before relocating to Chase City, Virginia, in the late 1980’s. She would go on to further her education at Southside Community College in Keysville, VA, where she earned her Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) credential. She proudly served her community at Boydton Medical Center, South Hill Memorial Hospital, Piedmont Regional Jail, Richmond City Jail, and through Home Health.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her beloved son, Cordell Hayes (Boogie), and her brother, Vincent Oliver.

She is survived by her daughters, Cora Oliver (Quentin) and Michelle Bouldin; her loving grandchildren; her mother, Mary Ann Oliver; her siblings, Daniel Oliver (Doll), Helen Silva, and Vera Shade (Russell Sr.); her devoted companion, Carlton Harrison, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Thelma Katrina Oliver-Hayes will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Saturday, January 10, 2026 at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City. Burial will follow in Concord Baptist Church Cemetery, Chase City. Public viewing will be held on Friday from 2:00 to 6:00 P.M.
