Vickie Yvette Watson Jones

Ms. Vickie Yvette Watson Jones, 60, of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at her residence.

Ms. Jones was born on January 4, 1966, in Halifax County, VA to Edward Watson, Sr. and the late Nannie Mae Watson. At an early age she joined Mt. Mitchell Baptist Church, where she sang in the youth choir and served as an usher. She graduated from Bluestone High School in Skipwith, VA, and furthered her education at Southside Community College, where she studied Business Administration. Ms. Jones was formerly employed by Burlington Industries in Clarksville, VA, and later served as a correctional officer at Lawrenceville Correctional Center. She also owned and operated her own cleaning business in Charlottesville, VA, and was a bus operator for GRTC in Richmond, and driver for the Mecklenburg County School system. Vickie was a hard worker who loved her family and life, and the simple joys it brought. She enjoyed playing softball, gardening, cooking, and playing cards.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories two sons, Brandon Jones of Chase City, VA and Christopher Watson of Roanoke, VA; four grandchildren, Jordyn Jones, Jade Jones, James Jones, and Kaiden Watson and her soon-to-be granddaughter, Uma Yvette Watson; her father, Edward Watson, Sr. of Chase City, VA; five siblings, Edward Watson, Jr., Wanda Watson, and Sherry Saunders, all of Chase City, VA, and Stanley Watson (Coresa) and Jannie Jenkins of Henrico, VA; her devoted goddaughter, Monique King of Chase City, VA, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.

Funeral services for Ms. Vickie Yvette Watson Jones will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Saturday, February 21, 2026 at Mt. Mitchell Baptist Church, Drakes Branch, VA with Rev. Fran S. Jackson, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Public viewing for family and friends will be held on Friday from 2:00 to 6:00 P.M.
