William Henry Clay

Mr. William Henry Clay, 84 of Clarksville, VA entered eternal rest Sunday, April 29, 2007 in Powhatan, VA. Mr. Clay was born in Mecklenburg County, VA Sept. 21, 1922 to the late Robert and Bessie Hunt Clay. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Mr. Clay is survived by his wife Louise S. Hargrove Clay of Clarksville, VA; one son, Henry Lee Clay (Margaret) of Clarksville, VA; one step-daughter, Felice Johnson of Raleigh, NC; three step-sons, Ezra Somerville III and Samuel Somerville both of Fayetteville, NC and Robert Somerville of Richmond, VA; six grandchildren, 11 step-grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 9 step-great-grandchildren and 7 great-great- grandchildren; two sisters, Martha Lewis (Joe) of Baltimore, MD and Hattie Lee Valdes (Orlando) of Clarksville, VA; one sister-in-law and two brothers-in-law and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Mr. Clay was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Woods. A memorial service will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Friday, May 4, 2007 at the chapel of C.H. Harris Funeral Home, Clarksville, VA with Rev. Claude Patterson, officiating. Arrangements are by C.H. Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 216 4th Street, Clarksville, VA.
