Mrs. Winifred Aurelia Carter, 89, of Midlothian and formerly of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest Thursday, May 29, 2014 at the Windsor Senior Living, Richmond, VA. Mrs. Carter was born in Chase City, VA, April 20, 1925 to the late Richard and Aurelia Mack Willard. She attended historic Thyne Institute in Chase City, VA and formerly worked as a nurse. She previously owned a trash service, a restaurant, daycare and a night club. In addition to her parents Mrs. Carter was predeceased by her husband, Timothy Carter; son, Charles W. Jones, Jr. and sister, Marjorie Bowers. Cherishing her memories are one daughter, Barbara Jones Burton (Floyd, Sr.) of Saxe, VA; two grandchildren; Michele Elaine Banks and Sean Durante Carter; five great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. A graveside memorial service will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at Thyne Memorial Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Chase City, VA, with Rev. Willie L. Carter Sr. officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Epilepsy Foundation, 8301 Professional Place, Suite 200, Landover, MD 20785. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
